SCAGLIOLA
I adapt the 16th-century technique of scagliola by substituting traditional pigments with discarded house paint, local renovation waste, and architectural fragments. By applying historical plaster methods to modern salvage, I cast and polish composite sculptures that link past building traditions to contemporary waste. Studying these historical methods clarifies how our present society creates, uses, and discards material culture.
